A physicist and engineer, Athanasia Symeonidou is a researcher and PhD candidate at the Department of Electronics and Informatics (ETRO) of the Faculty of Engineering at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Her research spans computer-generated holography and sparse representations for holographic data. She focuses on research and development (R&D) of efficient algorithms for generation and display of high-quality static and dynamic computer-generated holograms from 3D models. As a 3D enthusiast, her main interests include 3d modelling through CAD applications, computer animation and virtual reality applications (AR/VR/XR). She'll be talking about holography on «Holograms» by Louise Bourgeois during ]unframed[ Close up.
